Time running out on XP

If you want XP to stay in your life, Microsoft says you have until January 31, 2009 to do so. After that, when manufacturer inventories run out, you're stuck with Vista! Rolling your Vista system back to XP won't even be a possibility as there will be no more copies of XP made in Microsoft's factories.

We had a client come in this week to tell us a sales rep at Best Buy told him that computer motherboard manufacturers built a special "chip" into the board so that only Vista can be installed.

That's a lie.

The truth is that Best Buy and other Big Box stores have been stuck with Vista-only merchandise since June 30th because Microsoft shut down the embarrassment of people turning their nose up at Vista and ordering XP instead. This lie is designed to make you believe you can't get a desktop with XP installed.
