Win 7 getting great acceptance!
The introduction of Windows 7 is truly remarkable. Unlike Vista, Windows 7 is getting great reviews, excellent testimonials, and above all else - it does what it's supposed to do!
Lance Ulanoff of PCMAG.com writes, "Some companies seem ready to acknowledge that Windows XP's time has passed. It's good for older and lower-powered hardware, but these systems may not meet today's computing needs. Holding on to this hardware and the aging OS for any longer might seem like some kind of lunatic devotion.
"This thinking is supported, in part, by a conversation I had with Dell Vice President and General Manager Erick Dithmer. He runs Dell's Small and Medium Business Division in the Americas. Recently, he asked 25 CIOs and their IT managers about whether or not they planned to upgrade to Windows 7. They all said yes. I was skeptical. 'How many of them are still running Windows XP?' I asked. 'Virtually all of them,' he responded. He told me that they were anxious to make the move because they believe Windows 7 'will make their jobs easier.'
"What? Since when did anyone in any IT department see things that way? Sure, Dithmer's info is anecdotal at best, but what a perception shift."
He then adds what everyone should consider first: "The world is changing all around businesses, and they can no longer afford to use old and unreliable hardware and software. Old PCs running Windows XP just won't cut it. Vista would have been OK, if businesses felt they could rely on the OS. Windows 7 offers them the dual benefit of running all the hardware that runs with Vista and enhanced stability and performance."
He should include the XP backwards compatibility that comes with 2 of the 4 versions of Windows 7 consumers and small businesses can get - Windows 7 Pro and Windows 7 Ultimate. What it means to you is that you get to keep running the XP software you already own until you decide to upgrade to newer software.
Of course, we are seeing a good bit of curiosity about moving off Vista and on to Windows 7. Call Kenneth at 479.0777, and get all the details on Windows 7 today!
